About our Client:

Fire Designs by Makenna Mellott is a portfolio website showcasing her graphic design, illustrations, and motion graphics (coming early April 2025). Makenna is a Graphic Design student at the University of Northern Colorado, set to graduate in 2027.

We had an amazing time collaborating with Makenna on her logo. She already had stunning artmark in place—our role was to design the typography to complement her artwork.

• Round 1: We experimented with playful fonts but ran into challenges with the height of the artwork and maintaining legibility at smaller sizes.
• Refinement: Makenna beautifully reworked the artwork, reducing its height while preserving the brand’s integrity.
• Final Logo: We collaborated on a refined color palette, softening the tones while keeping the fiery reds, purples, oranges, and yellows that reflect her brand’s bold, mystical essence.

Once the logo was finalized, we developed a brand and mood board to define Fire Designs’ visual identity.

• Color Palette: Fiery hues paired with deep, moody tones.
• Dark & Light Themes: To enhance accessibility, we created both a bold, dark-themed version and a lighter, more ADA-compliant option.
• Fonts & Typography: Selected to complement Makenna’s creative and edgy style.
• Mood Board: Featuring textures and visuals that reflect Fire Designs’ artistic flair.

We’re building a custom website that reflects Makenna’s bold, creative style with:

• Dual Themes: A striking dark mode with fiery colors and a lighter, accessible version.
• Showcase Layout: Highlighting her portfolio pieces with clean, dynamic galleries.
• Coming Soon Page: While the full site is under construction, we’ve launched a temporary page to build anticipation, collect leads, and enhance SEO.
